How it all began

Our Story

Some love stories take their time. Ours unfolded slowly — in the same streets, the same cafés — until the day we finally met.

Where we met

For two years we lived in the same neighbourhood and kept crossing paths at the same local spots — yet somehow never quite meeting. When we finally did, it felt like the most natural thing in the world. We quickly discovered a shared love of travel, adventure, and great food, and our beloved pets have been part of the journey every step of the way.

The proposal

On the last evening of a trip to Venice, Umang made a beautiful proposal in our favourite place. It was deeply moving, full of love, and a moment we will treasure forever.

Forever begins

To honour Umang’s family traditions, we travelled to Agra — where his grandparents live — to receive their blessings and celebrate our engagement. Now we invite you to the next chapter: a traditional Punjabi wedding in the beautiful gardens of Agra.

The Celebrations

Wedding Festivities

Two days of colour, ritual and joy in Agra.

Friday

26 February 2027

Mehendi

Henna & Welcome Lunch

Over lunch

Intricate henna, chaat counters and dholki to begin the celebrations.

What to wear

Colourful and relaxed — lehengas, kurtas, or a bright summer dress, linen suit, or dressy separates all fit right in.

Sangeet

Music & Dance Night

Into the night

An evening of performances, cocktails and dancing into the night.

What to wear

Think starry night — deep blues, indigo, and silver with a little sparkle. Sequins, metallic accents, and cocktail or black-tie optional all shine under the lights.

Saturday

27 February 2027

Haldi

Turmeric Ceremony

Morning

A joyful morning of turmeric, marigolds and music. Wear something you don’t mind getting yellow!

What to wear

Light, yellow-friendly pieces you won’t mind getting a little turmeric on — cotton kurtas, sundresses, or casual linen.

Turmeric is part of the fun — choose something easy to wash.

Vivaah

Wedding Ceremony & Pheras

Evening

The baraat, the varmala and the seven sacred vows under the Agra sky.

What to wear

Formal and elegant — saris, sherwanis, anarkalis, or a floor-length gown or dark suit. Rich jewel tones are perfect.

Please avoid white — we’re saving that for the bride.

Reception

Dinner & Celebration

Late into the night

Dinner, toasts and one last dance to celebrate the newlyweds.

What to wear

Warm and elegant — rich golds, champagne, rose, and soft ivory. Gowns, tuxedos, sherwanis, or Indo-western formalwear in glowing, candlelit tones.

Getting to Agra

Travel & Stay

By Air

We recommend flying into Agra (AGR) — Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Airport is only about 20–30 minutes by car from the JP Palace, making it the easiest way to arrive. If you prefer New Delhi (DEL), Indira Gandhi International Airport is a larger hub with more flight options; from there you can reach Agra by car in about 3.5 hours.

By Train

If you’re travelling from cities near Agra, there are good rail connections — including from New Delhi. The Gatimaan Express reaches Agra Cantt in just under 100 minutes, making the train a scenic and comfortable option.

Where to Stay

All our ceremonies take place in the gardens of the JP Palace, Agra — and this is where we have reserved rooms for our guests. Mention the “Vera & Umang Wedding” block when booking for our special rate. Please reserve by 30 September 2026.
